Let (X,d) be a metric space and F be a set-valued mapping with compact values, such that \(D(F_ x,F_ y)<d(x,y)\) for all \(x,y\in X\), \(x\neq y\). (D is the Hausdorff metric induced by d). If, in addition, F satisfies some local conditions, then F has a fixed point.
