F. and M. Riesz theorem, analytic balayage, and problems in rational approximation (Q1117064)

The paper under review is devoted to the problem of the description of measures that are orthogonal to the algebra \({\mathcal R}(X)\), where \({\mathcal R}(X)\) is the closure in the sup-norm of the set of rational functions with poles outside a given compactum X in \({\mathbb{C}}\). The author also gives a characterization of peak points for \({\mathcal R}(X)\).
