The Cauchy problem for semilinear hyperbolic systems with generalized functions as initial conditions (Q1117101)

We prove an existence and uniqueness theorem for semilinear hyperbolic systems in two independent variables with smooth coefficients and with generalized function as initial data. There is a consistency between the generalized and classical solutions in the case of continuously differentiable Cauchy data. A continuous dependence on the initial data is also established.
