A computer extended series examination of mixed convection in a buoyant plume (Q1117804)

An examination of the use of series extension techniques is presented in the context of the mixed convection flow of a uniform stream about a horizontal line source of heating. The implementation is monitored at various levels of arithmetic precision and detailed comparisons are made with full numerical solutions over a comprehensive range of Prandtl numbers. An attempt is made to assess the level of confidence which may be placed in the results obtained by these methods.
