Ternary models of operators in register transfer languages (Q1117898)

We develop ternary models of the basic operators in languages of register transfers. A relation is established between ternary functions and Boolean differential calculus. This relation is applied to derive models for logic and conditional operators. For relational operators and arithmetic operators, we develop functional ternary models which require only three comparisons or arithmetic operations.
