A very general setup for most of the known large cardinal properties is presented. It focuses on the notions of fineness and normality. Simple (measurable, supercompact, huge) as well as complicated (2-huge, \(\mu\)- measurable, etc.) properties are given as examples. Some very general theorems are proved.
