The first and third of the authors [Int. J. Engng Sci. 23, 353-357 (1985; Zbl 0583.73015)] obtained the exact solutions of the nonlinear shallow membrance equation. The present paper is a sequel 1 of it. Here the authors consider the solution of the equations governing following physical phenomena: (1) the steady state heat conduction equation and (2) the reactor core optimisation.
