A continuation technique is proposed for the numerical solution of a nonlinear two-point boundary value problem arising in the mathematical modelling of a diffusion flame process in a finite length chamber. Both theoretical results (existence and regularity of solutions, asymptotics, stability, etc.) and numerical consideration of the problem are presented. Concrete S-shaped temperature profiles are considered as an illustration of the obtained results.
