Sylow p-subgroups of the group \(U(q^ 2)\) (Q1120009)

In [Ukr. Mat. Zh. 32, No.6, 813-818 (1980; Zbl 0466.20018)] we described the structure of Sylow p-subgroups of the limit general linear group GL(q) over the finite field GF(q) of q elements where p and q are relatively prime, \(p\neq 2\). One can use the same methods to describe the structure of the Sylow p-subgroups of the limit unitary group \(U(q^ 2)\) over the finite field \(GF(q^ 2)\) with the same conditions on p and q. The structure of the Sylow p-subgroups of the group \(U(q^ 2)\) turns out to be similar to the structure of the Sylow p-subgroups of the group GL(q).
