The authors propose two embedded methods of Rosenbrock-Wanner type with index-1 monitor for the numerical solution of differential-algebraic equations and discuss their consistency properties and convergence behaviour, respectively. There are three numerical examples from vehicle dynamics, electric circuit simulation, and chemical kinetics.
