A class of piecewise linear transformations of an interval with an infinite number of partition points is studied. The main result shows that there is a domain \(D_ N\), namely \(D_ N=\{a/(m-1)p^ N,\quad (a,p)=1\},\) where p is a prime number, such that an explicit upper bound on the number of periodic points possessed by \(f| D_ N\) can be given.
