The \(n\times n\) operator valued dissipative scattering matrices find applications in the theory of dynamic systems. The previous result of the first author [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 72, 75-88 (1979; Zbl 0426.35026)] on star-diagonalization of \(2\times 2\) scattering matrices is extended to a certain class of \(3\times 3\) matrices.
