Control systems described by high order s-transfer functions or experimental amplitude frequency responses are considered. An equivalent simplified discrete model is to be determined such that a weighted least square error criterion is minimized. A modified Rosenbrock method is used for optimization. Two numerical examples are discussed. The results are compared to different existing methods.
