The paper deals with the following problem: Given positive integers k, m, how should k open unit balls in Euclidean d-space be arranged such that no \(m+1\) balls intersect so as to minimize the volume of their convex hull? It is shown that as in the case \(m=1\) linear arrangements are optimal at least up to a constant.
