For spacetimes admitting two hypersurface-orthogonal Killing fields, vacuum solutions of Einstein equations may be generated using the well-known Belinskii-Zakharov inverse scattering method. In this paper one-soliton solutions are computed that have the Gowdy cosmological solution as the background.
