Some properties of coronas (Q1126968)

In a tiling the corona of a tile \(T\) is defined as the union of \(T\) and all the tiles which touch \(T\). The paper gives a survey over all known results in this area. It is shown that in each tiling of the plane with congruent convex tiles the corona of every tile is simply connected.
