The core argument (involving cyclotomic polynomials) of Witt's classical proof for Wedderburn's theorem on the commutativity of finite division rings is used to give an arithmetical characterization of finite abelian groups. No wonder that this can then be used to obtain a proof of Wedderburn's theorem.
