In the finite volume method, we propose to use the Gauss theorem to reduce the volume integration to area integration. Then we derive a formula for the nodes around each element based on the invariance of the fluxes into and out of the element. This allows to obtain discrete equations. This method with free cubic elements is applied to three-dimensional seepage and tidal flows and shows a good performance.
