Mathematical modeling is at present of decisive importance for both theoretical and applied problems of electrodynamics. The corresponding section of the Mathematical Modeling program therefore includes a large number of studies on this topic carried out in 1992-1993. The main directions of research were the following: Mathematical models of nonlinear and nonstationary processes; scattering on local nonhomogeneities; mathematical modeling of electrodynamic structures; dynamics of charged particle beams in electromagnetic fields; mathematical modeling in geophysics. The present survey does not attempt to review all the studies carried out in these directions. We will focus only on some finished results. Separate articles in this volume deal with a number of studies in the last two directions.
