The authors prove a necessary and sufficient condition for the normality of an \(h\)-hypertournament matrix. Moreover, a sufficient condition for \((n-1)/2\) to be the spectral radius of a normal \(h\)-hypertournament matrix of order \(n\) is given. Finally, an example answers to an open question suggested by \textit{S. Kirkland} [Linear Multilinear Algebra 30, No. 4, 261-274 (1991; Zbl 0751.15009)].
