Cortical memory dynamics (Q1130286)

The paper implements ideas from the theory of dynamical systems in an effort to bridge the gap between biologically realistic and abstract computational models of cortical memory. A number of features of biological memories are incorporated into a mathematical and computational model. Hebbian learning dynamics and recall dynamics are derived and their stability and convergence are studied both analytically and computationally. The concept of a feasible memory is introduced and the ''infomax'' principle is applied to such memories to characterize recall dynamics.
