This paper deals with the convergence of regularizing solutions to the solution of the extensible beam equation, which describes the transverse deflection of a beam whose ends are held a fixed distance apart. Applying the methods of energy estimates, coupled with semigroup theory and theory of cosine and sine operators to the strongly damped beam equation, the convergence is established.
