The authors discusses some results (about the research works) on Orlicz spaces and their applications done by Chinese mathematicians. The starting point to investigation of Orlicz spaces in China were papers of Ding Xiang (1957--1960) and (first of all) the Chinese translation of the book ``Convex functions and Orlicz spaces'' (1962) by \textit{M. A. Krasnosel'skiĭ} and \textit{Ya. B. Rutitskiĭ}. Let us remark that this book was edited in Russian in 1958 (see Zbl 0084.10104). In the period 1957--1966 the research has been developed in the following directions: embedding theorems, some operators and metrics. Next, after the break from 1967 to 1977, in the period 1979--1989 all the research was concentrated on basic properties, extension and geometry of these spaces and also on their applications. This paper contains a very long list of notes and papers printed in those two periods.
