Relations between different generalizations of matrix monotonicity are examined. For \(P_ +\) matrices [cf. the author, ibid. 86, 199-209 (1987; Zbl 0606.15013)] some of these are shown to coincide. Similar results are obtained for the class of all matrices \(A\) for which \(BA \geq 0\) and \(AB \geq 0\), \(B\) being the Moore-Penrose inverse of \(A\).
