The note concerns a mathematically invalid assertion in the author's own paper [Apl. Mat. 35, No. 2, 140-146 (1990; Zbl 0709.39001)] on finding the analytic solutions of the equation \(z_{n+1}=(2z^ 3_ n+1)/3z^ 2_ n\). This equation arises by applying Newton's method to solve the equation \(z^ 3-1=0\).
