The author considers a partially ordered set equipped with an auxiliary relation and shows how to construct all those (complete lattice) completions which are continuous lattices such that the auxiliary relation embeds as the way-below relation. The completions are constructed by defining certain lattices of sets ``closed'' with respect to the auxiliary relation. The largest (Alexandrov) and smallest (Frink) continuous completions are investigated. The results of this paper generalize standard results about algebraic completions.
