Let \(A\) be a commutative algebra over the rational numbers and let \(I\) be a nilpotent ideal of \(A\). It is known that \(K_ n(A,I)\cong HC_{n- 1}(A,I)\), where \(K_ *\) denotes algebraic \(K\)-theory and \(HC_ *\) denotes cyclic homology. The author shows that this isomorphism commutes with the \(\lambda\)-operations. He also shows that various possible definitions of \(\lambda\)-operations in Hochschild homology coincide.
