The paper investigates the applicability of the finite difference method to the numerical solution of optimal control problems for linear elliptic equations with first- and zero-order coefficients as controls. The author gives estimates of the rate of convergence for the case of convex plane domains and the application of Tikhonov's regularization method is investigated.
