A multidimensional heat equation \((\partial u/\partial t)+(\partial/\partial x_ a)\{(1+\varepsilon g(u))\partial u/\partial x_ a\}=0\) is considered and assumptions, which assure the Galilean symmetry of the first and second order, are given together with basis elements of the corresponding Galilean algebras.
