Toeplitz liftings of Hankel forms bounded by non-Toeplitz norms (Q1179076)

In earlier work [J. Funct. Anal. 67, 345-359 (1986; Zbl 0589.47007)], the authors demonstrated the equivalence of the Sz. Nagy-Foias lifting theorem with a lifting theorem for Hankel forms subordinated to two positive Toeplitz forms. The present paper studies Toeplitz extensions of Hankel forms subordinated to two positive but non-Toeplitz forms. Applications include a non-unitary version of the Sz. Nagy-Foias result.
