A generalized FDM utilization for numerical resolving of the Stefan problem (Q1181023)

The authors propose a finite difference method (FDM) for the numerical integration of a \(\hbox{2-D}\) Stefan problem with temperature-dependent thermal properties and nonlinear boundary conditions. Before utilizing the FDM a version of the enthalpy formulation is applied to the original problem. Convergence of the FDM is not discussed. Computational results are plotted but the particular boundary conditions for the illustrative example are not stated.
