It is shown that running electrostatic particle codes at relatively large values of \(\omega_{ce}\Delta t\) may not significantly affect physical results. A single particle mover, the numerical orbit of the Boris algorithm for rotation, the guiding center motion and a plasma simulation are investigated. Numerical results are included.
