A classification of braid types for periodic orbits of diffeomorphisms of surfaces of genus one with topological entropy zero (Q1182649)

In a previous paper [\textit{J. Libre} and \textit{R. S. Mackay}, J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 42, No. 3, 562-576 (1990; Zbl 0725.58036)] two of the authors gave a classification of the braid types for finite unions of periodic orbits of diffeomorphisms with topological entropy zero on surfaces \(X\) of genus zero. In the present paper a similar classification is given in the case when \(X\) is a surface of genus one. The authors use the analysis and results from the above cited paper and Thurston's classification of surface homeomorphisms.
