The authors' goal is to provide conditions weaker than one-sided Lipschitz continuity or monotonicity which guarantee a restricted kind of uniqueness of solutions for initial value problems. Their motivation comes from certain elastic-plastic oscillators with a concavity condition. In some cases, unrestricted uniqueness can be obtained.
