For any prime \(q\equiv 3\pmod 4\) the space \(S_{2k}(q)\) of cusp forms of weight \(2k\) for the group \(\Gamma_ 0(q)\) with trivial character is diagonalized with respect to all Hecke operators. This supplements a result of \textit{A. O. L. Atkin} and \textit{J. Lehner} [Math. Ann. 185, 134--160 (1970; Zbl 0177.34901)].
