The authors have recently presented a three-dimensional elasticity solution for a simply supported transversely isotropic closed circular cylindrical shell [Acta Mech. 84, No. 1-4, 63-75 (1990)] using three displacement function approach. This solution is extended here for an allround simply supported cylindrical shell panel and results of this have been compared with classical and shear deformation theories.
