The construction of bounds of the solution to the boundary value problem for the Thomas-Fermi equation is considered. A new discretization concept for generating uniform lower and upper bounds of the solution is proposed. Their convexity is used to modify the occurring nonlinearity so that the right-hand side is bounded from below and from above by piecewise tangents and secants respectively. A numerical procedure is presented and numerical results are also discussed.
