The author presents a numerical approximation of the moments \[ m_{pq}=\int^ \infty_{-\infty}\int^ \infty_{-\infty}x^ py^ qf(x,y)dxdy \] for a binary function \(f\). The scheme is based on direct integration along each continuous row of image pixels followed by trapezoidal integration along the edge contour.
