In previous papers a family of fixed-length plane minimal-energy splines were introduced and studied by the same authors. In Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 13, No. 4, 351-372 (1990; Zbl 0722.49033) they presented a simple algorithm for solving the constrained minimization problem associated with a clamped minimal energy spline segment. In this paper they prove the convergence of this algorithm.
