The 6-dimensional unit sphere \(S^6(1)\) is endowed with a nearly Kählerian structure constructed by making use of a Cayley division algebra [cf. \textit{T. Fukami} and \textit{S. Ishihara}, Tôhoku Math. J. 7, 151--156 (1955; Zbl 0068.36001)]. The author proves the non-existence of 3-dimensional totally umbilical proper CR-submanifolds of \(S^6(1)\).
