For a two-parameter problem \(G(\lambda,\mu,x)=0\), where \(G: R^ 2\times R^ N\to R^ N\), the author proposes an augmented system involving \(3N+3\) variables for the computation of simple bifurcation points, here called nondegenerate hysteresis points. There are only few references to the literature on this topic, and no numerical comparisons with other existing algorithms are given.
