An \(EP_ r\) matrix \(A\) is one which has rank \(r\) and \(AA^ +=A^ +A\) where \(A^ +\) denotes the Moore-Penrose inverse. This paper studies the generalization of \(EP_ r\) to matrices whose entries are rational functions in one indeterminant over a field with an involutary automorphism.
