A tabular method for reducing the degrees of polynomials by the stability equation technique is given. The method is based on a property of multipoint Taylor polynomial approximations. The resulting Routh-type algorithm is easily applied for solving the numerator and denominator polynomials of a linear system transfer function in the frequency domain. The method avoids using time-constant form and finding roots. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the method.
