This book provides (1) basic background on reactor kinetics required for modeling nuclear reactor kinetics, (2) basic mathematical tools necessary for understanding earlier work and a presentation of much of this earlier work, (3) an evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of earlier control methods. The book is very well written and also provides a nice introduction to practical problems in control of distributed parameter systems.
