Stable pseudoisotopy spaces of compact nonpositively curved manifolds (Q1189295)

The main result is that the space of stable pseudoisotopies of any compact Riemannian manifold with nonpositive sectional curvature can be computed from the stable pseudoisotopy spectrum of the circle. This formula involves the homology spectrum of the space of all closed geodesics on the manifold. The results were announced in [Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 22, No. 1, 59-64 (1990; Zbl 0703.57018)]. In the special case of negatively curved manifolds the results of the paper were proved earlier by the authors.
