A mathematical formalization is proposed of the problem of estimating the number of engines necessary to stabilize a mechanical elastic system, functioning in conditions of zero gravity, in a specified position. Conditions are given which allow the class of control matrices imparting the property of full controllability to dynamic systems to be described.
