This paper considers the compressible Kelvin-Helmholtz problem when the vortex sheet lies parallel to a plane boundary. Aeroacoustic studies of this problem which have appeared in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics are evidently not known to the authors, who look to the problem as a model of certain cosmological phenomena. Their findings are consistent with the fluid mechanical studies.
