Integral domains finite over each underring (Q1192573)

The author considers the question of characterizing all integral domains which are finitely generated as modules over each subring. In order to do so he quotes a result of his joint paper with \textit{S. B. Mulay} [Tokyo J. Math. 10, 317-325 (1987; Zbl 0653.13004)] which answers the same questions for a ring which is integral over all its subrings. The condition of being finitely generated with respect to every subring implies that the notions of being integral and of being finitely generated are equivalent. Thus the statement of the author's theorem follows from the results in the previously quoted paper.
