A new coupling method of the Crank-Nicolson difference scheme and boundary finite elements are applied to an initial-boundary value parabolic problem. Error estimates for the numerical approximate schemes on a bounded or unbounded domain in \(\mathbb{R}^ 3\) are obtained.
