Summary: A method of analysis to evaluate curvatures, rotations and displacements in the reinforced concrete monodimensional elements subjected to monotonic loads in the plastic range is developed. The method takes into account the slip between steel and concrete, and the effect of the tensile concrete between the cracks. The nonlinear differential equations that solve the problem are presented, and a numerical solution procedure is discussed in detail. A comparison between theoretical and experimental results concludes the paper.
